White Christmas (Instrumental Music)

Christmas Music – White Christmas (Instrumental)

PLEASE turn your captions on for lyrics to sing along!
White Christmas Lyrics:

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

Repeat

And may all your Christmases be white

♫ Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season ♫

UAE Hotel Displays an 11 Million Dollar Christmas Tree

The luxury Emirates Palace hotel in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) unveils a Christmas tree. It’s not just any ordinary tree. It’s decorated with over 11 million dollars’ worth of jewelry. Here’s more.

This Christmas tree is decorated with over 11 million dollars’ worth of jewelry. It is sitting at the luxury Emirates Palace hotel in the United Arab Emirates capital, Abu Dhabi.

[Janet Abrahams, Executive Director Sales & Marketing, Emirates Palace Hotel]:
“This year, we partnered with Mr Khalifa Khoury, who is the chairman of Star Gallery and he has provided us with 11 million dollars’ worth of precious stones and jewelry and that enables us to go for the Guinness world record for the most expensive Christmas tree.”

The tree is 42-and-a-half feet tall. It is decorated with diamonds — a lovely match for the main gold covered dome of the hotel.

This dome also hosted the world’s first ATM gold machine introduced to the hotel earlier this year.

A local jeweler provided the tree with 131 different jewelry pieces, including gold and precious stones.

Tourists and visitors stopped to take a picture near the unique tree, or just to stare at it in amazement.

[Janet Abrahams, Executive Director Sales & Marketing, Emirates Palace Hotel]:
“What we are trying to do is to give everybody who visits and everybody who is staying here the chance of to be part of something really special and unique.”

Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace hotel is where royalty and billionaires come for cappuccinos topped with gold flakes.

What street is good to see Christmas light displays in Melbourne and Adelaide?

I am going to visit both in the next week and was wondering where I can see all the cool Christmas displays on suburban streets.

FOR MELBOURNE THIS LIST HAS SOME VISITOR COMMENTS AS WELL:

Colin says – ‘As veteran christmas lights watchers we have travelled far and wide. Two special mentions this year: Bowen Road, Lilydale – you can sit here for 15 minutes watching the lights synchronise with the music. Narracan in Vermont South – worth a visit. And our favourite over the last few years – Grassy Flat Road in Diamond Creek. Stroll along here on a warm night is a great way to spend an evening with the family.’

Kyneton. Caroline says – ‘My sister, who lives at Woodend, tells me that she used to take her children to see the lights at Kyneton. Apparently there was street after street of decorated houses. I’m not sure if they do it anymore. Perhaps someone from Kyneton could confirm if they do.’

8 Casley Place, Hoppers Crossing. John tells us – ‘Many Santas everywhere, Santa lanterns, flashing stars on the roof, strings and strings of flashing strobe ropes, icicles. It’s a great show and is usually on until 11 pm, or so.’

Nhill. Lisa says – ‘If you want to see lights you should see the ones in Nhill!!! hoowee…for a little town we are sure using our fair or is that unfair share of the power!! hehehe.’

13 Narracan Street, Vermont South. John says – ‘I am a Scrooge, and I almost enjoyed the light display!’

Cnr of Scarborough Drive and Hawthorn Road, Vermont South. Rachel says – ‘there is a fantastic house here. Also, another in Cascade Drive off Hawthorn Road, Vermont South. They are both well worth a look…Another street where lots of houses do the lights as you turn into Scarborough Drive, by the little park! Can’t miss them!’

11 Lebanon Cresent, Mulgrave. David says ‘This house has it all. Almost eveything is animated. From reindeers, santas, snowmen… You’re sure to be amazed when you see this house. With over 40,000 lights in total, it took about 8 weeks to set it all up.’

Daylesford Tce, Caroline Springs. Lisa says – ‘There are quite a few good houses. You will need to get out of your car and walk up to the windows to appreciate the finer details. There is also one good one on Springlake Avenue.’

Leila St, Deer Park. Lisa says – ‘it has a really bright house with lots of lights.’

Plumpton Rd (Between Taylors Rd and Keilor-Melton Hwy), Rockbank / Plumpton. Lisa says – ‘it is a dirt road but the house is absolutely fantastic!! The owner actually sells the lights and there is a council road sign on the Hwy directing you. It is also in the Melways.’

74 Eliza Street, Keilor Park. Thanks Sheryl for sending this one in…

41 Stuart Avenue, Cheltenham. Derek, Sharon, and Jaime say ‘Our house is pretty good too, and there are some others in our street also.’

14 Park Cres, Wangaratta. Chris sent us a note to say she’s put her lights up.

Castleton Court, Gladstone Park. According to Mark, there are ‘twelve houses decorated, all individual displays. Well worth a visit.’

Cnr of Songbird Ave & Vista Drive in Chirnside Park. Another keen spotter says there’s a house there that is ‘just great. Every year the owners do it up with thousands of lights, reindeers and sleigh, revolving christmas tree, and stars across the roof. Last year they added a huge snowman.’

James Cook Drive, Endeavour Hills. Kate says – ‘there are some absolutley amazing lights. They are just down from Southern Cross Primary school towards Hallam North road. Two houses next to each other do an amazing job every year!’

228 Morack Road, Vermont South. As one Christmas light spotter says, ‘Come see this one, it keeps getting bigger each year!!!’

27 Glencairn Drive Greenvale. According to Bron, ‘this is a fantastic display of lights and there are six windows fully decorated with all the christmas things you can think of.’

Melbourne Road (opposite Ridley Street), Blairgowrie. Thanks Jack…

Rawdon Court Boronia. Taylah says – ‘I think it is the best one I have seen this year and my little brother thinks it is great too. It has lots of things in the garden and a window scene as well. There are also lights out the
back onto the main road with a blow up santa, snowman, and santa and sleigh.’

The Australiana room at the Ballarat library. Edith says – ‘we have a Christmas display we are very proud of. It was arranged by one of the people who uses this room for research, Mandy Taylor. She is a great example of Christmas spirit, voluntarily putting up this display to spread some joy and happiness for all who come into the library. Not really a street display contender but worth a trip into the library if you are in or near Ballarat. We’ve been told we’re Ballarat’s answer to Melbourne’s Myer windows!’

Lakeview Drive Lilydale. According to Jenny, Alan, and Shannon the ‘entire neighbourhood gets into the spirit, and Hereford Road Lilydale/Mount Evelyn is also worth a look.’

Grayson Drive, Olga Street, and Roxanne Close – all in Scoresby. Nick says they’re all worth visiting.

40 Caven Dish Avenue, Wantirna South. ‘Wonderful fairy lights’ according to Tegen.

14 Davey Dr, East Ringwood. Scott says there’s a house there that’s worth a visit…

Hamsterley Square, Wantirna. Steve says the lights here are ‘really good’.

Loch street, Surrey hills. According to Amy, it’s ‘a small dead end street with most houses participating. Loch street consists of many hand made creations including a lot of children’s favourites, toy story, winnie the pooh, nemo, teletubies, Simpson’s and six white boomers pulling their own sleigh. Plus all the usuals and plenty of lights. The street is topped off with a star that is hung across the street between two houses. Worth a look day or night if you have little children.’

34 Ularara Drive, Mildura. Amelia says ‘fab lights, I may be biased as it is my own, but I would love for all to come and see. Santa and his helper will be dropping by on Christmas eve and will be raising money for the
RSPCA here in Mildura.’

84 Parkmore Road, East Bentleigh. Paul says it’s a ‘FANTASTIC christmas house. It has a massive christmas display & light and sound show and is fantastic for people of all ages. More Information can be found at: christmas.southernlights.net. Starts 12th December – Ends 30th December. The Light and Sound Show commences at: 9:15pm Lights & Animation On: 9:30 – 10/10:30.’ Luke sent us more information… ‘A very unique display, much more than just lights. Features a new Disney theme each year. The characters are hand made and painted. Contains many thousands of lights, and a unique 15min light and sound show, which is based on the theme of the year. Contains smoke, bubble machine, pond and mini waterfall, 20 inch mirror ball, theatrical style lighting and other effects. Attracts thousands each year.’

Hallston Crt Meadow Heights (Coolaroo). Yasmine says – ‘we’re all in the swing of Chrissy in our court. 6 houses to see full of thousands of lights and many things to see… Santa, snowmen, reindeers, elfs, and many more… Some people have even seen a Kangaroo!’

29 The Ridge, Canterbury. Brenton has an amazing display with 25,000 lights which you can see more of here. A couple of people have pointed out to us that you might get a few annoying pop ups on your computer if you click on this site, so consider yourself warned!

39 Cole St, Brighton. Sue says it’s a ‘fantastic display! Better than I’ve seen at The Boulevard, Ivanhoe. Some really cute & different things. A fantastic HUGE 3D Christmas tree, & some lovely elves climbing onto the roof! Well worth travelling all the way to Brighton to see!

Barrow St, Coburg. Chris tells us there are two houses there which ‘seem to have gone to a lot of trouble to put up spectacular light displays in their front yards.’

40 Catherine Drive, Hillside.

Macedon St, Hoppers Crossing. Darren tells us there’s a ‘fantastic house that on its own out does the entire boulevard in Ivanhoe. I have yet to see it this year but last year was astounding.’

Casterton in South West Victoria. Stephen tells us Casterton ‘normally has many houses with Christmas lights. Last year there would have been at least 20 houses. A brochure is normally available from the Tourist Info Centre (if closed try any one of the 3 pubs).’

3 Emma Place, Dingley Village, (off Fernhill Drive, near the Sports Centre). According to Murray, his work colleague Robert goes to a lot of trouble with his display and raises money for his local CFA. The display will be up until December 26.

1 Bowen Rd, Lilydale. Luke has a computerised lighting display which features a 10′ long scrolling message sign (moving message display board which he designed and built himself.) The display consists of a 30 minute "show" that synchronises music to the lights. The display will be on from Thursday December 11th until the 25th from 8:45 until 11pm each night. Melways ref 38b4.

75 Harrison St, Box Hill. Samantha and Len light up their ‘ginger bread’ house between 8:30 and 11pm daily. They also say there’s a great rooftop light display in the shape of a Christmas tree on the house opposite in Birkby St, Box Hill North.

Burwood Highway between Station St and Middleborough Road. Heather tells us there is a ‘fantastic house’.

22 Marshall St, Mt Evelyn. Samantha’s nephews (Thomas and Riley) love the reindeer on the roof with the moving head, and the Santa and reindeer garden lights.

24 Laura St, Moonee Ponds. According to Rick, these lights are ‘the best lights I have ever seen (as a taxi driver I have seen a few)’…

Deakin St, East Bentleigh and the next street over both reportedly have houses with lights and displays.

Saxon St, Doncaster are ‘looking wonderful in their Christmas Lighting Finery’ says Alyson.

Heathmere Crescent in Endeavour Hills (off Mosgiel Park Drive which is off Heatherton Road) has an ‘outstanding display’ according to Marj.

Eldorado Court in Wyndham Vale – ‘from 8:30pm onwards the street lights up’.

81 Golf Link Drive, Mill Park – Peter Rasmus has a hand made animated display including galloping reindeer across the roof, a runway with flashing lights for Santa to land, and a three dimensional Christmas tree with a radiating star atop.

177 Main St, Thomastown. Anton has up to 2,500 lights on his house.

Cliff Road, Nepean Highway, Oliver’s Hill, Frankston. ‘Frankston’s boulevard of lights comes alive when the cliff top houses light up a fantasy world of Christmas Light.’

10 Chute St, Mordialloc. Tim has a ‘great show’ featuring ‘lots of lights, six white boomers, santa, and many more native animals’.

3752 Ballan Geelong Road Mt Wallace (Vicroad map 77 E6, 300m south of the Mt Wallace – Ballark road intersection). Duncan has a Christmas light display, and says there are a number of houses around Mt Wallace with good displays.

Pioneer Street, Managatang. Just near the hospital. This is in the Mallee – not far from Ouyen or Piangil. A ‘beautifully lit house’.

90 Moores St, Clyde. A house ‘covered in lights’.

3 Penhurst Court, Glen Waverly. Features Father Christmas, Deer feeding, a snowman, and more.

49 Chamberlain Road Newborough – Mark and Andrea Savige are trying to raise money for their local fire brigade by asking passers by to donate some money while enjoying their light display…
If you visit Mark and Andrea on Friday the 19th of December between 8:30 and 9:30, Santa will be there in a firetruck!

St Thomas’ Anglican Church in Werribee. Cnr Synnot and Greaves St. Father Max Bowers tells us the display features over 30,000 fairy lights inside and outside the buildings. There’s also an Australian Nativity using life size figures including a FJ Holden and the King visitors include the King of Rock (Elvis), Prince Charles (would be King), and ex-President of the US, Bill Clinton (who thought he was a King)! The display is open every night until Friday December 22nd, 8 to 11pm. For more information, have a look at www.grassroots.com.au.

Bell St (between Nicholson St and Sydney Rd). We’ve heard there’s a great house here, but we’re not sure of the number…
