Vintage animated mechanical Christmas store front display . Eskimos & penguins
3 Piece vintage animated mechanical store front display. The standing Eskimo girl measures 34″ high from bottom of base to top of head. The base measures 48″ long x 12″ wide. The huge penguin measures 52″ tall from bottom of base to top of penguin. The sitting Eskimo measures 24″ tall. I’m not sure about weight, but I would estimate the combined weight to be around 100lbs, but I am just guessing. I’m sure the set could be improved with a little bit of work. The large penguin is not working at the moment, but you can hear the motor working when plugged in. I’m sure something small has just come loose inside as the mechanics on these seem pretty basic. I think he lifts his head and moves his wings. They are all a bit dirty from storage and there are a few areas of worn or torn fabric. christmas light displays? how much does that cost?
im talking about crazy huge Christmas light displays. we went looking in the rich neighborhoods last night and where discussing how the companies who do lawns are the ones that put them up and they start well before thanksgiving putting them up. and they make more money then then the rest of the year. im just curious if anyone knows how is the average fee for putting them up? and any ideas how much the electric bill is? we went and saw one that has the system that plays the lights with music, and one of the ladies we were with said she knew the man who lived there and he said it was only and extra 100 for that month.
I used to do lights for a couple of Doctors houses every Thanksgiving weekend. I’d wrap all of their trees and bushes. Every year it got more and more then another neighbor and another. I ended up taking vacation time from work in Nov. and also in Jan. to take them down when it was 10 deg. outside. I used to charge them $20 per hour and worked from morning till way after dark and made some very good money but one year, I just had to tell them I couldn’t do it anymore.
These days I’m happy just doing my house and Yes! I have the music playing with my lights. I bought the system at Home Depot a few years ago. It splits the lights into 6 different lines (it has 6 plugs) and the lights on each line flashes differently to the music. It looks great but the system only uses one house receptacle so all 6 lines are on one circuit. Sooooo if you try to make a couple million lights all flash to the music you’ll be popping a breaker every time it hits a high note.
How can I make/purchase dvds made up from youtube videos for my one year old?
He loves the moose a moose, in the jungle, hippo for christmas, ect. videos. I’d like to have a bunch of them on one dvd for him to watch on our big screen tv. These videos are only minutes long. Is there a way to get them back to back on a single dvd?
download them with keepvid to the same folder, then burn that folder to a cdr.
Can you replace Christmas lights with different color bulbs?
I want to customize my christmas lights this year by removing and replacing colored bulbs to have only my three favorite colors on a string of lights. Is it possible for me to do this?
Abslolutely. They sell replacement bulbs, and you can customize your colors. Just make sure that the bulb you buy is compatible with the type of lights you have. Good luck with your project, and Merry Christmas!
