How can I hang Christmas lights on my roof?

How can I hang christmas lights on my roof without using a staple gun? My family and I just bought a new set of lights because the old ones were a definite fire hazard. The new ones don’t have clips on them. So how can we hang these on our roof without a staple gun?

use a heavy duty glue gun and put gorilla glue in it so that they won’t move and you can have your xmas lights up for the next 30 years or whenever you need a new roof.

You can buy plastic hooks that will attach to the eaves and hold the lights. Ask at your local big box store like a Home Depot or something like that.

They have clips now that you clip onto the string of lights then onto your gutter, my dad has always used them. Some lights even come with them pre attached (outside lights of course)

Go to a hardware store or like walmart/target in the Christmas stuff you could probably find them.

They work great, and no damage to the roof!

they make clips that slide under your shingles, just check the hardware stores and whatnot! they also have cable clips that slide under your siding… check in the electronics and cable section of lowes or home depot.

Get some plastic clips or if you can’t find any get some bigger staples. Like the industrial sized ones.

You will find clips at your hardware store. Hang them from your eaves-trough or where the wall meets the soffit.

well you can get this special tape im not sure what its called but it is fire repelant meaning that i wont start a fire and you can tape down the wire part and the roof and when the lights go on you would not be able to see the tape
    OR
you can just use a staple gun . it might be easier buh yu might not be able to get the staples out.
    good luck

you go to the nearest box store such as a Home Depot. you would ask someone who seems to work there where the plastic hooks or metal hooks are and if they come with sticky substances to hold them then you string the lights through i suggest using a ladder!

The plastic hooks are a great idea but if you plan on hanging lights up every year, I would suggest buying metal screw hooks that can stay up and be reused every year. My family does this and it is so convenient for all the holidays that we decorate the house. One thing I would keep in mind is the placement of the hooks. Make sure you put them in a use able location but also make sure they aren’t an eye sore for the rest of the year( not on white areas of house).
