How can you hang Christmas lights on a young, weeping cherry tree?
We are first time Home owners…and we would like to put some christmas lights outside on a weeping cherry tree we planted in the spring. We already wrapped the the trunk in white lights…but, now it looks like a stick is standing in the middle of our front yard. How can we put some lights on the branches without causing damage?
Here’s a link to a site that has good instructions. Basically you need to wrap the light strands around each branch. If you just lay the strand over the branches from branch to branch then they wont have enough support: http://www.christmasworld.com/training
This site also sells really high quality lights that would work great outdoors.

Maybe you can try the shrub bush lights, and if that’s to heavy maybe some inexpensive crystal tear drops, one of my neighbors does that and when the sun shines on it, it sparkles, anyway it’s real pretty.

there should be some net lights that go on bushes, and they should do the trick. Or buy a small pack of lights that are cheap. They shouldn’t weigh it down too much to cause damage.
